A significant commitment of the Māpua Boat Ramp Community Trust is to work closely with the Tamaha Sea Scouts. This is a group that achieves a huge amount with the youth of Māpua district and is vitally important to the health and wellbeing of Māpua’s younger generations. A priority of the Community Trust is to encourage youth to enjoy outdoor activities in Māpua’s beautiful natural environment.
Due to limitations regarding space and sea access, Tamaha Sea Scouts is currently located in four different places for equipment and boat storage. They currently have full membership with a waiting list for more to join. Their ability to expand is greatly restricted by the lack of facilities. The Community Trust’s vision is to assist them in achieving their goal of having one location for all their equipment to ensure they can meet the needs of the youth and instructors in a quality facility.
The Community Trust is excited to work with Tamaha Sea Scouts in delivering the Māpua Community Boat Ramp for the betterment of the whole community.
